    EXCUSE CAP

I ACCEPTED A OFFER ON SEDO FOR A NOT SO CLEVER .ORG.UK

COUNTERTOPS.ORG.UK FOR APPROX 700 DOLLARS GREAT I THOUGHT

THE BUYER SENT THERE MONEY TO SEDO I HAD A BIG SMILE ON MY FACE

THEN THE BUYER WENT ON THE MISSING LIST NOT PROCESSING THE LINK FOR

TRANSFER VIA NOMINET THIS WENT ON FOR MORE THAN A MONTH RE ISSUSING

    THE LINKS ETC.

SEDO THEN DECIDED TO RETURN THE FUNDS TO THE BUYER DOH

I THOUGH I HAVE ENTERED INTO A CONTRACT WITH THE BUYER

THE BUYER SENDING THE MONEY IN MY VIEW WAS ACCEPTING HE WAS

ENTERING INTO A CONTRACT AND SEDO AS THE FACILITATOR

    ACKNOWLEDGING THIS CONTRACT.

HOWEVER THE RETURNED THE MONEY TO SAID BUYER

WHEN CONTACTING SEDO THEY SAID THEY HAD NO OTHER OPTION BUT TO

THIS IF HOWEVER IT WAS A .COM .NET .ORG . OR OTHER THEY PUSH THE

DOMAIN REGARDLESS AND WOULD HAVE SENT THE MONEY

BUT BECAUSE OF THE NOMINET SYSTEM I E THE BUYER HAS PERFORM A

ACTION TO TRANSFER THEREFORE THEY COULD NOT DO THIS

WHAT A LOAD OF PANTS !!!!

SEDO HOLDS MONEY IN TRUST CORRECT

WHY COULD THEY NOT TAKEN ON THE TRANSFER THEMSELVES HELD THE

DOMAIN IN TRUST ON BEHALF OF SAID BUYER AND INFORMNG THEM THAT THEY HAD A PERIOD OF 2 YRS NOW TO CLAIM THE DOMAIN THAT THEY HAD
PAID FOR THIS IS MORE OR LESS THE SAME AS THEY DO FOR A .COM ETC

THEY COULD HAVE SAID I PAY FOR THE TRANSFER TO SEDO THEY HOLD IT
AWAITING CLIENT TO REQUEST TRANSFER IF THEY DONT THE DOMAIN DROPS

2 YRS BEING A RESPONSIBLE TIME TO ALLOW

IN STEAD THEY IN MY VIEW ACTED IN BAD FAITH AND FACILITATED A BREACH OF CONTRACT

AND DID NOT ACT WITH ANY CONSISTENCY OF THERE POLICY REGARDING THE TRANSFER OF DOMAINS IE EVERY OTHER TLD EXCEPT .CO.UK AND .ORG

COMMENTS PLEASE I FEEL A COURT CASE COMING ON

AND SEDOS TERMS AND CONDITIONS DONT SEEM TO COVER THIS

    ANY COMMENTS PLEASE

    CHEERS DOMMANAGEMENT AKA STEVE

    1 - Don't shout, as it wasn't us!

2 - Post in the Sedo section and you will be more likely to get a response from one of the Sedo people who visit AD.

3 - It does sound a bit shit, as that would have been a good sale! :-(

" BL**DY HELL IT'S NOISEY IN THIS FORUM, I'LL HAVE TO SHOUT SO YOU CAN HEAR ME !!! "

YES SEDO CLAIM YOU ENTER A LEGALLY BINDING CONTRACT BUT THE BUYER CAN JUST WALK AWAY

YOU SHOULD STILL GET YOUR MONEY EVEN IF THE BUYER DOESN'T TRANSFER BUT THEN IT'S SEDO YOU ARE DEALING WITH AND WE ALL KNOW THAT THEY ARE LAME :(

PS. i'm only joking about shouting

Sedo will give you the contact details for the renegade buyer if you ask them.

He must have the email address if he initiated a Nom transfer.

Oops - that's correct. I was given the info for a .com as I recall, including full postal.

Ask for the buyers address and contact them direct (unless they gave a fake one, which happened to me recently). Just don't think SEDO care about lower value transactions where there is any hassle factor for them.

I wouldn't class $700 as a low value myself, especially for a .org.uk. You would hope Sedo dont think that either.

Bingo! When you think that they'd only get 10% commission, then it can't be economically viable for them to put too much effort into chasing the completion of a lower valued sale.

Let's say the person dealing with the transfer is on £15 per hour, then if you take into account overheads, tax, etc, then they can't make profit from 10% of a low price sale if there is too much work involved.

I'm not saying that is justification for not ensuring the transaction is completed, but might explain their approach!?

I agree it's a great sales price for the seller, but just not that much in it for SEDO.

Of course I would never expect SEDO to say 'we're not that fussed', but I imagine they accept a % of sales never complete for a multitude of reasons and it's simply not commercial to pursue.

Not only that point, but it seems obvious to me that if Sedo started to throw their toys out of the pram, they are embroiling themselves deeper as a possible party to the contract, which as we all know they like to distance themselves from!

    Sorry lol

Sorry about caps before i did`nt have my glasses and i am shite at spelling but i

can see with caps so sorry

anyway i believe in being open after talking to hugo in the uk office

he indicated that sedo still had the money and that he instructed someone

to make contact with the buyer which they did and that they still wanted the domain they were new to the net and had changed email addresses

that was the reason that they did not complete

and have been instructed me to issue a new link for transfer

so we will see how it goes

    thanks for your support

and i better remember to not leave my glasses were i cant find them

once again thanks for a great forum

Any one got any thoughts about the many news releases the indicate that

GOOGLE is not giving as much weight to domain names and then there was the one the other day anchor text to

any idea`s how real this is or is it just typical cia ploy of misinformation

does anyone have any solid indicators ??

and i would like to say once again thank you to hugo at sedo uk

i hope they give me the exchange rate at april instead of now
but maybe thats asking to much

funny though i have emails stating they had returned the funds to the buyer

but after 4 months they had not

maybe a telephone call to the buyer months ago would avoided all this

Maybe once the sale is compete, you could invest in a second pair of specs for those moments when the first pair just can't be found!? ;)

And a 3rd pair so you post in the right section, i.e. Sedo :p
