Well, re price, I reckon you probably paid £5.90 + vat....

...and I think you'd have been better off keeping the money...

    Sorry...

    Don't agree....

    2 issues with .me.uk's:

    More difficult to rank
can only be owned by an individual

.me.uk's always get a hard time on here....

If someone religious wants it and has a few quid.... I don't see why you couldn't get a few hundred to an end user if marketed well.

    Good luck

Not sure that God is in the business of buying domain names.

Does god need a domain then? Thought he was ever present and all seeing already? Bit like google but without ad words...

    LOL

If those who believe in a God had a website to go to where they could offer prayers to their saviour... then yes, he does!

... and I think over the coming years we'll see a lot more 'religious' websites and TV channels scamming money from those looking for 'hope'.

I stand by my appraisal... unless anyone knows God personally and would like to speak on his behalf... or do you think he would issue a DRS?

Why should this domain only be reserved for religious types? Anyone could use it for their personal blog. If I was the blogging type, I would use god.me.uk. It's a great domain for anyone with a massive ego and it suits the extension. I would say it was worth low £xxx to end user.

Willbon - I know God personally because he owes me £40. I sold him BigBlackStrapons.com a few weeks ago and he still hasn't paid me. I'm sure he would pay a few hundred for god.me.uk.

Sorry I disagree that either of two issues is true!

    1. They should be as easy or difficult to rank as a co.uk or org.uk

    2. They can be registered by anyone and they often are. According to someone at Nominet, there is "no monitoring of applications for the .me.uk domain names as manually checking each one would be restrictive. We do rely on registrants and registrars to accept the spirit of, and the rules relating to .me.uk registrations".

You have to wonder what the point of the rules are if they are not actively enforced.

I have to say that I do agree with you that they should be as easy to rank.... and I've seen people on here swear they rank them just as well.... but I've never seen a decent name rank myself.... anyone point to an example?

.. as for the Nominet issue... are we going to see these rules enforced... and see many taken off people?.... or are we going to see the rise of .me.uk names?.. Perhaps the 'horse has already bolted' on this one and once Nominet admit to feckless regging and no policing of it... perhaps god.me.uk will be worth something near god.co.uk .....

    search: whiplash claim

it's top, for 'web' and 'pages from uk'

    oh, and it's hyphenated :D

seen many more but forgot which ones
personally prefer .org.uk as they perform incredible and better quality domains and no rules

to have a gander check on google search
    enter

    site:.me.uk

    or site:.org.uk

then if you find an interesting site, well developed, see how it holds up against search terms

on top of other things its good research on site development on what works and what doesn't on the 'lesser' extensions

although i already know .org.uk works as well as .co.uk

however nothing ranks as well as .com in my books :D
proof in the pudding with my sites

busnesses will buy good sites with any extension if effective

however british businesses want to buy the .co.uk if just buying a domain. most small to medium will take it over anything

Finding one single domain that ranks for one keyword isn't proof of anything.

I think if anyone is going to argue that .me.uk's are as easy to rank as .co.uk's then they have no clue about seo - its pretty obvious that me.uk gets no exact match bonus, when .co.uk's do...

I doubt you are going to see .me.uk soaring in value either - they'll remain in the toilet, where they should be :D
