Just had this email from Sedo:

No discussion, not notification of the offending domain(s), no details of any offending IP addresses if any, no right of appeal, no earnings from other domains, and to cap it all, a cancelled account.

Sedo, is this what you call customer service? It would have been so easy for you to show some respect to a customer and notify me of the specific problem domain(s). Instead, I've been found guilty in all but name. Block offending domains by all means, given that you clearly recognise innocent ownership of domain names can take place after the event. But to use this as an excuse to close an otherwise innocent account, that's shabby, really shabby!

Thank you Sedo, from yet another disgruntled domain owner!

Had exactly the same from them a couple of months ago, got it sorted but it took a few emails and also using the online 'support' function

good luck in getting it resolved

Precisely! The domain(s) in my account were all using Sedo layouts. On the basis of that 'lostminute', I think i'll spend the next few days going through a load of TMs & typos to see if they appear at Sedo, and if any are found, then see what they advertise. I certainly had no TMs bringing in any revenue via Sedo, of that I'm sure!

Google has been recently (past ~4 months) deeming certain domains as "spam" (e.g. advertisers making complaints). The provider I use for parking just stops serving Google ads on those domains. I've had the purest of pure generics blocked e.g. contacts_co_nz

I can't understand why Sedo would suspend your entire account when perhaps only a few domains are affected?

    Hi Double Tap

Please can you contact security and compliance to discuss the problem.

I have asked management if we can look at this process and see if there is a way we can improve communication regarding suspending accounts.

    qualitymanagement@sedo.de Telephone: +49 221 340 30 230 and ask for security and compliance.

Emailed Sedon't on Friday, no surprise that they didn't even bother to reply today.

In the mean time, I did a trawl of Google as you do; cancelling accounts without an explanation of the details seems to be a common occurrence.

To be fair, they never said contact by email... There are many ways to communicate with the Sedo mothership, not their fault if you are still using your keyboard to do so. :D

To be honest i have had one or two issues

with sedo , but always found them to be helpful if you persist politely,

if you start ranting and raving and dont give them a chance like everyone else

they will stick there heels in . and you dont get 48 hrs responses from big

companies , so be a little patient and have a nice chat with them and argue

your case, i am sure that they will sort things out , they are just worried about

being sued ,like all big companies good luck ;)

    Hi Double Tap.

I would suggest calling the security and compliance team. It would be best to have a conversation regarding this. I have chased the team up today to get in touch with you from the email you sent as a priority email.

When an account is suspended an email is always sent to confirm why. The email sent to you stated that your account was blocked for spam traffic. This is an automatic preventative measure.

You are encouraged to contact the security and compliance team if you want more detail as to why and feel this is an error. They will happily investigate this and if necessary unblock your account.

    Kind regards

    Joanna
