    SOLD! No more offers, please.

I am offering for sale two turnkey Baby Names websites with good exacts.

Baby Names For Girls (2,900 UK Exacts)
Baby Names For Boys (2,400 UK Exacts)

Few years ago I got to large excel files with names from somewhere on the net. I cleaned the data, converted to .sql (with categories, origins, etc.) and fed into fresh WP installations resulting in 12,200 Female and 16,093 Male names.

Both sites are build in WP framework, database is clean and works very fast. Posts divided to category (first letter), title (name itself), excerpt (meaning), post (meaning + ad placeholder) and tag (origin). I have used a free version of the premium theme. The theme's code is "severely customized" to serve the site purpose and accommodate some of the plugins.

Search system is using "fuzzy logic" and weighed results system. Plugins installed and configured including: Contact Form, Default Sort Ascend, Quick Adsense, Relevanssi, Wordpress Popular Posts, WP Page Numbers, WP Post Sorting.

Monetizing via Adsense or Aff links. For baby products I always prefer affiliate but it is up to an owner do decide.

Sites are not some standard type of blog and they did require serious work to build. Therefore I am interested in serious £xxx offers only. Please no lowballs. I would advice checking the functionality of sites before making any offer.

What you will get: as with all my site sales every site hosted on a separate cPanel account. Buyer gets the domain itself (nic fee payable by the buyer), one month free hosting to transfer the site and one clean PR4 anchored link for 3 months. After 30 days the hosting account is automatically deleted. If you want me to host the sites permanently or for longer than 1 month, I can sell you hosting in 6 months increments. Please inquire for details. I do not do site transfers, sorry. But you host can do it for you and in most cases free of charge.

I did similar type of sales many times (including one on Acorn) and therefore the whole procedure is simple and straightforward.

Offers by PM only. In two days this sales thread would be also posted elsewhere.

P.S. Please, don't ask about stats, rev, etc. Sites are live for only a day or so.

I quite like these. However would want assurances that the database of names, which is where the value is, is something you can sell.

Thank you for all your interest and offers, people. I would do my best to answer to everyone.

Rob, to be honest I have built the database myself from absolutely raw and unsorted list of names and definitions. So the database itself is my work. About the list, I don't know who compiled it as it was few years ago and it was a complete mess. (different casing of letters even different encoding). The raw file had no copyright or any other messages. And I really doubt that anyone can copyright a person's name and it's definition e.g. most of the entries look like this: Name: Addyson, Meaning: Awesome, Origin: English. I do greatly doubt that it could be copyrighted even for slightly longer explanations like: Peter the biblical fisherman and apostle...

Therefore the database itself is something I didn't download but made out of raw data and added few more fields like category and excerpt.

To me that sounds like it would be someone elses database right, and you are using a 'substantial' part.

I run some football sites and people are amazed that two teams names and a date are copyrighted.

If you can indemnify me I would make an offer :)

Wow... That what I call a response... Sorry, people, I will try to reply to everyone when I am back to my PC :D

    Now "public question":

Nope, it was a combination of about dozen different files with different layouts and overlapping data that took lots of time to clean and rearrange. It wasn't a single database.

How??? Wait, wait... all that meanings can be found on wiki! "Creative Commons License"? Or will this do: "The names database has been compiled using various sources"? I have compiled it, myself

If you have created a work and can claim copyright you can be confident there are not any copies, and if there are you can go after them.

http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=Fa...ing+Robert+the+Bruce.+Robert+Burns+the+poet.& It would stop dupe content issues like that for example.

I don't think you can ever stop dupe on "common knowledge" or "public domain" information or similar. For example "Oliver becomes most popular boy's name". The secret is in comments and the rest of the site setup. I can only claim copyright on database structure, not on common knowledge like "Peter means stone".

Thanks for all PM's and emails. I am aiming at answering to all tonight.

Small update: both sites are on the first page of G for main keywords already (after just 48 hours).

    Small update:

I am starting to get some stats. Girls site received during 18th-19th July 19 UVs from G on the main keyword, boys site (which is one day "younger") received 5 UVs on 19th July on the main keyword.

Highest offer so far: £200 per site. From now you can post offers here if you like.
