Bad boy of the east in western eyes. Are they building or are they not? Who to trust? All western signs indicate they are but can we trust what we read? Already been proven Iraq had no weapons of mass destruction although we were told they did.

So what to do? Nothing and hope for the best? (they are not and only interested in generating) or bite the bullet and (try) and stop all proceedings now? Or let them get on with it and announce to the world (if they are) in a couple of years they now have? Will they announce? or just use and strike first?

The time of reckoning beckons. Sanctions wont cut it. We all know this. Russia and China stay silent, (as they have vested interest in their minerals) but surely must also be worried about what might be going on?

Just like the CIA, Iran have their tenticles speading ever more, silently into different regions trying to sway political decisions. Has a vast army, submarines and more clout than the west would care for.

Will Israel strike? The same country that puts 2 fingers up at the United Nations, defies their treaties (although still being allowed to be a member???) and continues to build on occupied land? (Who's the aggressor?)

I sincerely hope an amicable solution is found (but doubt it) If there's not and a strike command is issued, I doubt there will be any middle east left as we know it and then the wrath will be upon the west as the defeated will have nothing left to lose.

Do we/us/they strike soon? or hope for the best?

Even if they are building, who cares?
Who gave the west (read USA) the monopoly on nuclear weapons?
I'm so glad Russia and China are against even more sanctions towards Iran. And I do think the good ol US of A would get an "ass whoopin" from Iran if they fancied their chances and tried an invasion. Iran is not Iraq or Afghanistan.
I blame it all on the jews in Israel, shit stirring bastards :)

On saying that, I would love to see America invade Iran, because it is high time for America to be taught a lesson. Iranians don't fuck about.

    Seconded.

The US have started their false flags since Ahmadinejad speech re 911 to the UN.

I think Iran probably are building these weapons. During the Iraq conflict it was the intelligence agencies of the US & UK that claimed the existence of WMD, but on this occasion its the IAEA. They could be wrong of course, but personally I think its unlikely.

What to do is a different matter. On the one hand I don't believe for a minute that Isreal is just going to sit there and let them build these weapons, as the Iranian leader has already said his mission is to "erase Isreal from the map". On the other hand attacking Iran won't be the same as the Iraq conflict (in which I was involved in 1991 in 45 Commando).

My own opinion is to somehow try to get Russia and China on our side and hit Iran in their wallet. Personally I'm more worried about what Isreal will do, as they seem to do whatever they like. When Saddam started launching scuds at Tel Aviv during the first gulf war they basically had to be threatened by the coalition in order to stop them retaliating. If they had done, the whole coalition would have broken apart and the Arab world would have turned on Isreal.

So in a nutshell I don't think we should just sit there and allow Iran to develop a nuclear weapon, but on the other hand I don't think we should leave it up to Isreal to take action. If we can somehow get everyone unified in the security council it would become very difficult for Iran.

(Just my own view by the way)

On the other hand though, who said there should be an even spread of weapons.

Don't be fooled by China and Russia standing up for Iran, they ain't. Iran have a ground based ballistic delivery system with a range of around a thousand miles. Russia is within that range and China is close, the yanks are nearly 11,000 miles away.

China and Russia might be seen to be putting up some back off statements, but check out the statements from the wikileak files and stuff like this that happened from China with regards North Korea. The public and private statements are completely different.

They wouldn't need to invade Iran, they could just block the import of fuel into Iran. Iran has no refineries, it has plenty of oil but you can't put crude oil in the back of vehicles. So my bet is Israel will do a strike, and the yanks will enforce a blockade and an internal coup.

Israel are quite good because the one thing that scares a bunch of religious fanatics are another bunch of religious fanatics.

It won't go worldwide though, will be very regional.

It truly surprises me, the naivety of so many. As people we take very little to do with the world instead we concentrate on ourselves and our families, blindly ignoring that goes on. This is not out of ignorance, or perhaps in a way it is.. but we elect governments into power to make decisions that we cant.

I have to assume that they know more than we do about a country, its leaders and its risk to our "way of life"

I read somewhere that we are just 7 meals away from anarchy. Now picture the scene. IRAN destabilises the west by withholding oil, the price at the pump rises even more or perhaps the pumps start to run dry due to the flow of Oil being cut short.

Close your eyes for a moment and picture the scene at petrol stations. Think about haulage companies not being able to deliver food to stores. Consider the riots in stores.

How far would you go to feed your family?

So for whatever reason there is to invade, pillage or indeed rape another countries resources in order to keep civility in this one surely its no longer black and white. We can all get on our high horse and cry foul, but, when it comes down to it and if the choice were yours to make. What would you do.

Whilst we have been on this planet for billions of years the human race has yet to overcome its biggest problem.. that being RELIGION it may have served its purpose thousands of years ago, it has however no place in a modern society.

You remove religion you solve 90% of the worlds conflict and you make progress in dealing with the final 10%

I would urge you all to seriously look at the bigger picture and regardless of your feelings for government, you must understand that you do not have even 1% of the facts because were you to truly understand then you would live in constant fear.

If of course you have your own solution to the problem, then by all means blog about it.

If anything's going to lead to anarchy surely it's the removal of religion. People have little to believe in as it is. They have no faith in government, they have no incentive to do anything except complain. I'm not religious, and yes religion has caused a lot of problems (and been a scapegoat too).

But what does the average person have for morality then? Laws? Police? Not much incentive to behave, and leads to internal unrest. Didn't help much during the riots, and leads to even more reliance on governments before they aren't good enough either.

As far as your petrol argument goes, most people have the resources available to be self-sufficient if needs be. They just don't want to think about it.

Iran withholding their 4.95% of world production is hardly going to leave the pumps dry, the Saudis could close that gap without upping their production.
The price of oil will go up but it isn't in OPEC's interests for the price to rise too high and stimulate the development of alternative fuels. There are other factors too, for example if the price of oil went to $150 a barrel then the production would go into overdrive on the reserves which have high break-even points such as the Canadian oil sands and the additional production would serve to force the price downward.

Oil isn't running out soon, the available reserves grow year on year and the number of countries with recoverable reserves increases too as technology improves so it is a self-limiting market.

The US will act soon imo because if they don't the Israelis will and they'll crack the nut with a sledgehammer.

Greece finally defaults & leaves the Euro. Italy's economy becomes unsustainable and collapses the euro. With all the quantitative easing floating around inflation rises, interest rates follow.

Germany & France with a rise in nationalistic fervour and a paranoia that Russia will pull the plug on the gas/oil threaten Greece who promised them all that free Solar energy.

Britain becomes isolationist, but not as much as the US

US defaults on it's bonds/debts to China & Japan.

Russia in a protective move reannexes the baltic & balkan states - 'only for their own good'. They become best friends with China.

A greater islamic state arises across the northern African peninsula - a new and bigger Berlin wall.

Who gives a sh*t about Religion! No amount of praying to a fictional sky fairy will help!

    After that it gets worse!

    Just a scenario. :)

The trouble for Iran is in its bordering Country influences (to the East and West). The changes are there and quite rightly it's starting to imagine its own worse case scenario. being played out

Our world has become such a smaller place and Iran will do anything it can (short of starting a major conflict) to up it's influence and presence.

No different from any other country with the resources (and perceived threats) to do likewise
