Once the trophy catch of the top drop catchers, LLL.co.uk can now be had for the bargain basement price of £99:

    rzf.co.uk - sold for £99:

    ykq.co.uk - sold for £99:

    wvn.co.uk - sold for £99:

That's not good is it. QQB doesn't seem bad for that price.

I was planning on selling aid.co.uk next month in the "great domains auction" but this doesn't give me a lot of confidence at all.

Is Sedo a bad place to sell .co.uk's? I imagine most users on there don't really invest in .co.uk but I could be wrong.

:|At this rate I wish I had money for stocking up on lll.co.uks

The prices have dropped rediculously especially at reseller prices

There were quite a few other LLL's that went for a decent buying price today too:
    xxo
    hqe
    euu

I am lumped with a few LLLs with the letters Q / X / Z and they NEVER get any offers, the other dozen or so get sniffs, but those never do. I paid top dollar bidding against Barry for one of them too.

Its going to be a long ass wait for an end user or a huge loss I think.

The X one, I am looking at devving myself, and I'm still buying them :)

I'm sure some of these would of got a better price on domainlore.

Don't know what anyone would do with the likes of ykq.co.uk though :p

It won't surprise me to see these flipped for double the price.

Poor sellers have to pay Sedo £35 out of the final price aswell so £64 for a lll.co.uk, what a joke :(

Poor combinations. It will be a very rare occurrence for any business to use those LLLs as an abbreviation set.

If you have a three-letter domain that equate easily to a business name, it's easy for customers to remember it, and of course much less for them to type. I think 'wvn' was the real bargain above. Sedo is a bad place to be selling these. DL works better. End user research works best.

"mime" is a word, so shouldn't be considered in the same way as a 4-letter domain (except that it happens to have 4 letters).

Nike, puma and polo are also words. Still they are discussed as cvcv-s.

Wether these are 4 letter words or 4 random letters they are cvcv domains either way.

    they weren't great combos
there may not even be a single enduser, but if there were one someone got a great deal
    I haven't looked into

if an enduser has the combo and want your domain they won't relate to a greater sequence

for example if a company is called 'TXZ'
they may be a billion dollar company in software and be happy to pay £20k for the .com or more
still a huge bargain for them
if before they came about a domainer may have 'only' been willing to pay $4k

if you offered them VIP.com also for £15k they wouldn't be interested, it's not 'their' letters , they would look at you like you were mad
even though we all know it's worth min xxx,xxx

having said all that, LLL are same other domains in the sense you're better buying a better combo or higher quality generic in the sense that you hit more bases and have more options

    quality not quantity, as ever

    if!

The question is how likely is it for an end user to have the combo.

It is much more likely for them to have a combo of good characters. That is why they are good.

I think a good way to see if a combo is good to search AcronymFinder for the combo. If there are lots of results its a good combo if not many bad combo.
The results will not be Your targets to sell to but the numbers will indicate how likely it is for the combo to occur .

you lot just don't get it do you ;) - the end users are the combo, ..there doesn't need to be an entity for it to be worth something.

just because 'The water in Majorca don't taste quite what it oughta'

    savvy?

But if you had the money and wanted them they would not be £99 though, would they.

    three letters

For lll's its about striking lucky ... for every 100 or so you will probably strike lucky ... you want a brand to develop like any domain name so you need to make sure its cheap to hold onto .... GHD I sold to GHD (eventually). I also sold DNN to chrysalis group and i am sure a few i sold to domainers were turned for good profit .... but when i regd mine many businesses were without websites but today thats very different....
