    Hi Guys

What are your hobbies other than domaining? Mine are mountain biking, photography, playing the electric guitar, tennis and cooking. What are yours?

Rarely get time for hobbies anymore between work and........work, but I like a bit of Golf, Poker, Xbox.

Got into photography a couple of years ago but wouldnt call it a hobby, more of an expensive thing that sits in the cupboard and comes out when I can be bothered to carry around a bag full lenses.

I have an old Canon EOS 400D but it doesn't get used very much. I actually prefer using my smartphone (an old Galaxy S2 but takes reasonable photos) most of the time as I find carrying around the camera annoying.

However, if I took things more seriously with the proper camera then a tripod and a zoom lens would be nice.

I'm a Canon Man myself, mines a couple of years old now though with the Canon 600D which I liked because of the flip out screen, was the entry level DSLR when the missus brought it for me I think, perfect for learning the ropes. Think it was about £500 for the body and then I got some reasonable lenses to go with it.

The Lenses I've got are as high as I can go before the lens prices take a massive leap north which is pointless unless your using it professionally.

I do some music photography (I'm a Sony shooter), I love the challenges of low light photography where you also have to be alert in an environment which you don't control. I've been involved with independent / unsigned rock and metal for quite a few years. I used to manage bands and run gigs locally. I have also interviewed touring bands and reviewed their gigs. I don't like the reviewing side of it because I was expected to write a glowing report, even if they were shit, to appease the PR companies. If I wrote truthful reviews, I wouldn't last long. Neither would the webzine/magazine I was writing for. I will still do reviews if it's a band I really want to shoot (reviews/interviews/photos are all offered as a bundle, I can't really pick and choose which to do).

Quite similar here - apart from my all round nerdiness, I love golf and poker.

If you wanted a round @ Notts GC (Hollinwell) then let me know - it's in the top 50 in the UK and is a really good track.

Dusk Till Dawn (also in Nottingham) is a great poker club too.

Hate photography though - it's really boring!

Hobbies require time, therefore I have none! But if I did, more work, family (doesn't count, I know!), cars, films and gaming pretty much sums me up, basically anything that involves sitting down in front of a monitor! :D

Most my hobby's earn me income, so the only one which doesn't is, Gaming. Because my other hobbies which earn like photography/videography require high end hardware, it would be rude not to do some gaming.

I play Crysis 1-3, Metro, not a huge fan of COD, keep meaning to get battlefield 4 but still not finished Metro and still love the Crysis Games.

I'm not a gamer, but I realise these games are very popular. Do you spend much time playing?

Not too much, probably about 4 hours a week.

Great escapism and it really does sharpen your reflexes

    Ringing church bells.

Clearly, it's done in churches, but it's not churchy. Ringing is becoming more and more a secular hobby. I'm not a churchgoer (ever) yet I'm in charge of the ringing at my village church and at local district meetings in other churches.

When you get a good band of ringers on a good ring of bells ringing interesting 'methods' (the patterns we follow as we ring the changes), it really is hard to beat.

It takes a bit of time and dedication to get to the enjoyable level, but it's thoroughly worth the journey - it's a great hobby. Fortunately, I learnt when I was a kid when these kinds of things are easier to pick up, but I've seen people learn in their 50's and get pretty good indeed.

Paying for someone to ring our wedding church bells wasn't quite as fun :p
