The last major (style) change of Nominet's website was in 2006. For comparison there are hundreds of screen captures on Wayback Machine, https://web.archive.org/web/20060427112701/http://www.nominet.org.uk/

The 2006 website has recently been replaced with one using very different branding and style. It is inevitable that some people will resist change, preferring the old website. Nominet have acknowledged negative feedback, and applied minor changes. They can dismiss a small level of protest and assume that all other users welcome the changes - unless there is sufficient response and constructive criticism to gain their attention.

You can send feedback to Nominet using the Online Services feedback form, email (nominet@nominet.uk) or telephone +44 (0)1865 332211
Please use this poll to share your opinion (good or bad) of the new website.

the new wesbsite is an awful, ill conceived disaster of a site to use and navigate. As mentioned in another thread, the transfer process is tripping up too many people as well as it isn't laid out well at all.

I agree that improvements need to be made and have already begun my own list to present at some point.

The new design sums up the current state of Nominet IMHO.

Without scrolling, the only thing I see is a muddled mission statement:

"We're responsible for a vital part of today's UK internet infrastructure. Building on this expertise, we're developing leading-edge technologies to support the internet of tomorrow."

From that alone, you wouldn't have a clue what Nominet actually does.

Luckily for Nominet, it doesn't actually matter. The money rolls in come what may, ready to be squandered on what are little more than vanity projects.

Since the new site the WHOIS also no longer remembers / autofills previous WHOIS searches i've carried out meaning i have to type out previous lookups all over again... so much effort!

This could be fixed in 2 seconds but i feel it may be deliberate.

Do you think this is an accident? They have dedicated comms staff to draft all this sort of stuff, so I assume it must be deliberate.

Problem with Nominet is that they don't know what they want to be -ironically twitter don't know what they want to be now either, and can't make any money, yet Nom is rolling in cash.
