    Hi all,
Some of you have contacted us reporting domain pages that do not resolve in the UK. All of these complaints were from Telewest/Blueyonder customers but on the other hand, a large portion of the same IP providers clients can view the pages.
We have been in contact with Telewest/Blueyonder who insist there is no problem - their networks manager confirmed that he himself could view the pages perfectly. IP trace routes confirm that Sedo is not blocking the traffic.

Sedo has not initiated any block nor has disabled any traffic from the UK. If you are a Telewest/blueyonder user and cannot view Sedo parking pages, please report this to your IP provider as well as Sedo.

If you are a telewest/blueyonder user and use linux and would like to help us recreate the problem, so we can investigate it further please get in touch by email or phone.

    Kind regards,

    Nora Cotter

    Hi,
Sedo has not initiated any block nor has disabled any traffic from the UK - including AOL customers.

Again, if anyone is a telewest/blueyonder customer, experiencing difficulties viewing sedo parked pages, used Linux and wants to help recreate the problem, please get in touch.

Since writing below, I find I can connect to Sedo - Make money with Domain Parking with IE6 but not Opera 9.01 if I CLOSE ZONEALARM. Unfortunately I have been unable to set the expert settings in Zone Alarm.

I too have found that my domains redirected from 1and1 & domaindiscount24 to sedoparking are not visible. my ISP in the UK is 'NTL World'.

    Hi Aquanuke,

I was lucky - SEDO replied and a Brad Tilley, Parking Account Manager, did have the courtesy to ask later wether or not my problem was resolved satisfactorily.

I am at fault because I did not reply to Brad's message 4 January.

For me sedoparking.com is definitely being blocked by ZoneAlarm Pro. So I just turn ZoneAlarm off and rely on router firewall for protection then switch it back on when finished checking parked domains. I can find no reason for ZoneAlarm acting the way it does and setting up expert rules to allow sedoparking.com to negotiate the firewall does not help either.

Hope you get a response to your feedback soon.

    Cheers

I just logged in ok Stephen. OldGiraffe I dont use zonealarm or any other firewall apart from my router. I still cant view any of mine or other domainers parked pages. Im 99% sure its due to Telewest/NTL/virgin blocking. Although my problem has only started recently maybe its connected with Virgin buying Telewest.

When I cant a chance I'll try from my dads house as he has Telewest as well.

Traffic is dropping to new low levels for a weekday. My connection seems ok but it is obvious that a lot of traffic is not getting thro'. Any news from Sedo yet on this?

    Hi everyone,

This situation is certainly frustrating for all of us. Drops in traffic will mainly be experienced by domains with UK traffic as a result of Blueyonder/Telewest not showing domains parked with Sedo to their customers.

To use an analogy: Sedo is a major television network. Advertisers pay money to have their advertisements shown on our network. Let's say a cable or satellite service provider just decides to block our programming and they don't say why or even know that it is an issue until we and their end users complain to them.

This situation is far from ideal.

A big thank you to those of you who have provided us with trace routes, IP addresses, etc. This helps so much in locating the issue.

Also thank you to those of you who have written or called Telewest to complain about this.

    Kind regards,

    Brad

    Nice job of buck-passing Sedo.

If I buy a bag of sweets from Woolworths, my contract is with Woolworths, not with the sweet manufacturer!

I can thoroughly recommend NameDrive (www.namedrive.co.uk), if anyone else, like me, has had enough of Sedo's rhetoric!

If Sedo pages are bloked from Telewest connections then why is that a Sedo issue?

Telewest will have no SLA with Sedo and to be honest, wont really give a stuff.

Telewest customers are the ones that have the SLA with their provider and are the only ones that can demand that the issue be investigated. Telewest will not entertain any calls or contact from Sedo at all.

Since Wednesday none of my parked domain pages is resolving either. I'm with Virgin. I've emailed SEDO three times about it but had no response. From reading earlier posts am I right in understanding that I may need to get to Virgin about this.
Presumably "not resolving" means getting a blank page or "cannot find server" message. Why should Virgin block Sedo?

    Any helpful answers much appreciated.
    Thanks
    Guy

It is Sedo's responsibility in so far as your contracts are directly with Sedo, as they accept a consideration (portion of your ppc revenue) to provide the service.
