No need if you've got the .org.uk unless your wanting to brand yourself, but then you'd want the .co.uk too...

    I disagree a bit there. :D

If 36,000 ppl are searching for a something per month and theres 1 of only 3 possible opportunites to have an .uk extenension for the exact keyword or phrase match, then I would'nt even blink @ quibbling over £6 to reg it if I were developing.

forget .me.uk from a typ-in point of veiw I agree

I think that web users are more savvy than most give them credit for.

.org.uk doesnt enter the mind when using the net, it you land there you assume that its a charity or a rip off of the .co.uk version, where you will no doubt head to next.

If you are creating a mini-site with lots of exits, then perhaps its ok, if its a business or a portal to your business then avoid.

    yar,

exactly, im only think about .org.uk & .me.uk for minisite/affiliates in a pure SEO point of view etc for joe bloggs.

mybusiness.me.uk maybe not souding great, but having said that, If the name fits the extension - eg: outsource.me.uk ;) and it was making me dosh I would be proud no matter what :p

I disagree, have you ever watched a non web (tech) savvy person surfing the internet? Its quite an interesting and enlightening experience.

That said personally i would'nt run a business with anything other than a .com or .co.uk :p

As expected a few different points of view on this one!

For me Olebean for £6 I would buy it and put a minsite on it. If it makes money then you know me.uk are fine for minisites, if it doesn't then you have also learnt not to buy them and all its cost you is £6 plus a bit of time.

For mini sites they are fine. Think if you put it on the side of your truck or for a type in email address people would still be trying to type in .co.uk.

But give it time, people learn! Well some never learn but thats another discussion!

    Couldn't agree with this more.

When I see a parking page, I can usually tell it's a parking page and I move away without clicking on it.

When I watch my mum/dad/etc playing around on the internet, they have no idea what a parking page is. Even with the most simple of tasks they end up in the strangest of places and end up earning money for others without even realising it.

It's quite shambolic the way that some people move around the internet.

I prefer to trawl it :)
