Domains from a hosting company

I have found an offering of registration a domain from Ahosting.biz: they provide registration of .com for nearly $9, which seems very attractive for me. It is possible that I also get a hosting from them, so I would like to ask you If

it is a good idea to register domain from a hosting company, which is though ICANN-Accredited registrar?

Thankx for sharing your opinions in advance!!!

These days most hosts offer domains and most registrars offer hosting.

The important thing to ensure is that the domain "owner" is you and that the contact email is pointing to somewhere you can still get control of the domain should the host or registrar not be contactable.

$6.99 from GoDaddy with the discount code, despite all what people say, their transfer process both in and out is pretty damned easy.

If you buy 5+ you get free privacy advocate too but only on initial purchase, but the initial purchase doesnt matter if its 1 or 10 yrs you get the privacy for the lot.

Daily are offering £3.95 per year with the bulk discount or domain credits.

I think that it is not a bad idea to register domain names from a hosting company. As for me, Ahosting.biz is reputable and stable hosting company. As you may know, their web hosting packages are hosted on Intel Dual Xeon servers and using CentOS operation system with Cpanel where you can control your website, spam assasian, unlimited pop3 e-mail accounts, webmail, FTP accounts, MySQL database, PHP, etc.

I am sorry to disappoint you, but ahosting is not accredited registrar! Where did you get this information? They are just godaddy resellers..

To the question: having a domain name from a hosting provider is only good if you do not host your information with it. Sometimes, even often providers register domains for themselves and allow you to use it, until you leave their service, the transfer or sale is impossible for you.

However there are some particular cases: for example, marblehost.com also includes domain into their hosting plan. But they just pay for your registration and when you live - the domain remains in your ownership. I had luck, because if I have chosen another provider - I would sustain losses...
