Question cPanel domain aliases

Anyone know how to make a cpanel domain alias?

In plesk it can be done quite quickly, still to figure it out for cPanel.

Goto the Domains Sections and assuming you have a number of alias's in your package, then goto Parked Domains.

Don't forget that domain aliasing can be really bad for SEO. Really you want all of your domains sent to a primary domain - and not have the same content served on two different domains, as you may be penalized for this.

I'm no SEO expert, but I think a 301 redirect is preferable after you've parked the domain, done via your .htaccess file - HTACCESS File - Krystal Hosting Wiki - UK Web Hosting Support

Code:
Options +FollowSymLinks
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^parkeddomain.co.uk$
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.primaryDomain.co.uk/$1 [R=301,L]

Sure - the main point of domain aliases is if you want to redirect like 40 domains to the same domain (for example) in Plesk you can create 40 'aliases' of a domain, which all point at the same hosting account.

Then you can do a rewrite rule which will 301 them all automatically (instead of having to do them all on individual accounts)

Haven't found a quick way of doing it in cpanel yet - but thanks for response

Adding a Parked domain into cpanel does only take about 5 seconds, the only annoying thing is the listing of the parked domains when you get above 10 domains, it's not the simplest system in the world.

If you have access to your httpd.conf file and you aren't interested in any of the other cpanel functionality you could put it in directly into that as a ServerAlias
