Just wondering if anyone has installed plesk before or is a server expert and knows what these error messages are.

Basically I'm looking to install plesk on my new server, however it is throwing up and error. So rather than pee about all day I'm better off paying someone to do it if they can.

Please pm me if you think you can help?

Also just while we are here, anyone know of a reliable open source alternative?

Perhaps Webmin or Cube Panel Lite? Both Free.

Graeme, I actually do use Plesk as I'm used to it and know my way around it. It's expensive but robust for multiple domains, and I have an unlimited domain licence on one of my servers. Cpanel is the best value for money if you get to having to pay. IMHO.

I was going to lease it, �23 a month isn't too bad imo. I use it at the moment and very easy to use now that I know my way around it.

I'll have another go at installing it tomorrow, but my current managed server goes off in 2 weeks, so have a little time to mess about and try new things but would pay to stay with plesk as the preferred option.

Whats the errors and OS. Wont say im an expert but I am reasonably knowledgeable.

Graeme, Pay someone to set it all up properly otherwise these little niggly problems keep coming up and they eat your time and grow like a tapeworm. Better to fork out once and be done. Same with installing extra's like imagemagick and stuff.

Yep good point mate, if I get any problems I will certainly do that.

Thanks to Jimm for fixing it for me, it had a few issues that Jimm spotted and overcame A++++ for saving me hours and days of work. Payment offered but he even declined.

Will sort out this chap with some links or something,
