1&1 Problems

Hi,

I know you've probably received 100s of forum topics about this, but I need some assistance transferring a clients domain name from 1&1 to our Heart Internet account...

It's a .com domain, so going through Nominet isn't an option, and I've spent countless hours pulling my hair out going through online step-by-step tutorials and on the phone to 1&1 support. It seem's like they simply won't let their customers leave..

I've transferred a number of domains from a number of different registrars before (never been able to successfully transfer from 1&1), and I've had various issues with 1&1 before, which has eventually led me to drop a number of domain names, because the transfer process is just ridiculous.

I wish I could drop this domain too, but it's not mine, it's a clients who's wanting some web development services.

Can anyone link me to a step-by-step that they have used before, and that actually works?

It'd be much appreciated,
Thanks,

Hello,

I think the best method is to actually call them up on the phone and speak to them. It might take some time, and is a bit painful - but that's what our customers usually end up doing to get the domains moved.

Oh Dear, I thought that was their username

Anyway, it's useful information for anyone trying to move away from 1&1. They can be a nightmare to transfer domains away from. So if in doubt call them up and jump through their hoops
