![]() | building up a forum
Hi all, trying to build up a forum - has anyone used them pay per post services that some companies offer? they post on your forum under different usernames to give the impression the site is very active etc.. apparently it really helps with registrations as you would expect.. Matt |

I think vbulletin has a mod that will do it by using a robot to auto post general stuff. Not used it personally but looked good.

Used forum booster a few times. Have run and do run some massive forums that you may have been on Have been laughing a little inside with the number of problems AD has had recently, especially with such a few active users. But I don't normally say anything. ADMIN, if you need any help / advice do shout, but they may have all be things out of your control and actually issues with the host. However, I guess you would have moved by now if that was the case and could be why the domain was actively refusing connections yesterday?

I used a pay per post at the beginning for a forum, first 1000 posts by at least 6 users, the people I used no longer do it but it certainly helped - the forum now has 160,000 posts and over 2500 active members so it certainly gave me traction at the beginning and allowed real members to integrate without feeling too lonely.

WHOOPS // Off topic for this thread. Regarding getting the forum started. The cheap way is to open a couple of browsers and have conversations with yourself under different accounts. In fact, rather than re-write it, someone published some of my advice over here: http://performancing.com/forum/forum-tips-community Don't share it too much though David
