Hi all,

I think I bought my first domain back in 1995 and have bought plenty since but almost all as business opportunities/value-adds rather than as domains per se so I guess that makes me a newbie domainer.

Best domain: mobiles .co.uk (recently sold as a successful business)

Worst domain: batteriesalwaysincluded .co.uk (it was going be used as part of a promotional campaign for one of my companies but then we decided to stop including batteries with the electronic goods

)

Welcome to the forum, that was a pretty good domain you had in mobiles.co.uk.

Thanks, it's so long ago now I honestly can't remember but I think there was a token amount at the time. Certainly though there was no ongoing fee for the first few years - I remember feeling quite aggrieved when I had to start paying a renewal fee every two years.

You've made me curious now so I'll look back through some very old emails to see if I can find out how much I originally paid for it.

Wow an old school domainer. I bet it was quite inexpensive to purchase domains around that time frame! Smart investment
