| Junior Member | Hello Domain Addicts!
Hi everyone, I've been buying domains here and there for about the past 5 years. I started off with the intention of building on each of them but I guess I got distracted along the way... Never really got into forums and so I've had to learn the hard way through trial and error. I've been happy to hold onto all of my domains either through pride, stubborness or being to lazy to cancel them. I've racked up around 400, a mix of .co.uk's, .coms .nets and a couple of others... Worst domain (s)- any .mobis. I thought they'd take off but they're now pretty much obsolete. Who knows, I have some decent art related domains which i really will build on one of these days and if augmented reality takes off like i think it will i've got a few good ones. Just about to see what valuations people can offer for hd3dtv.co.uk which is one i've had for a few years and I own some sports 3d .coms too....Any thoughts let me know. |

Hi & Welcome Augmented reality was all the rage in web design & 3d at the back end of last summer. seems to have gone a bit quiet now though. I hope it takes off in a way that avatar has made 3d cinema more prominent Thanks

Thanks Fresh and Admin, In response to your comments on 3D and Ar - my view is that sometimes it takes a while for a concept to become a mainstream reality. In the case of AR, the increase in mobile phone's capabilities coupled with more accessible software (see http://layar.com/) means that you are likely to see this grow. The potential for extremely useful applications is unbelieveable. AR is the link for interaction between the mass of realtime information available on the web and the real world in which we interact, opening untold new opportunities. I can not see how it can fail to become a 'big deal'. I could rattle off dozens of applications but perhaps that would be best for another thread As for 3D, I don't think this will be as life changing as AR but will be a huge market. Did you go to see Avatar? It was a great experiance and literally did add another dimension to the result. I know some laptops are now 3D ready and it seems to have gripped the media and public's consciousness and so again, I cannot see this fading out in a hurry. Thanks again for the welcome. Best wishes, Daniel |
