Good Morning Ladies and Gentlemen

Hi,

Just joined after lurking for a while.

Thinking about getting involved in this sort of market, up to now just been working in Online (mainly marketing) and strategy. Have helped a few local businesses put up websites for themselves (I hate to see really bad or non existent sites) and then manage the PPC and SEO for them.

Been reading "Get Out While You Can" by esteemed member George Marshall - hope it is going to inspire me to get out the rat race (well I am out, it just depends on whether I am going to get back in or not).

Anyway, despite my reasonable knowledge, seems I have a massive amount to learn - so advanced apologies whilst I take rather than give (at least in the initial stages).

Welcome to the forum. My standard advice to newbies is don't get carried away regging names before you know what you're doing (or have sold a few). Buying is easy, selling is hard.

Hi,

welcome along Charles, my advice is to remain patient and with each new sale learn about what you done right to lead to this and get a good mind for pricing your domains right. When selling to an end user its all too easy to get carried away on what you think it might be worth and this often results in losing their interest very quickly.

But then again i hear about people on here going in with their conhones full blazing and getting that big sale they were after...

Great advice from accelerator, it should be rule no 1 as most newbies including me reg all kinds of terrible names then struggle to do something with them.

I'm new to this too, as per everyones advice I didn't jump in and buy domains instantly, I waited patiently untill I thought I knew what to look for, then bought a couple of rubish names anyway. C'est la vie, we're only human
