| Junior Member | Hello from Ben
Hi all, Just popping in to say hello. I'm a newbie domainer but have a few skills already in Wordpress/HTML/CSS etc. Best domains: www.themanwhohaseverything.co.uk - set up an affiliate site that started making money instantly. www.jewgle.co.uk - a Jewish search engine/directory. Not really sure what to do with that one though. Worst domains: Where to start? I have tried (and failed) to avoid the newbie mistake of jumping on new domains without much thought of how to monetise them. There's a few that have no real value or that I'll never get to rank as they're too competitive. www.kindle-fire-reviews[co.uk] www.kindle-fire-accessories[co.uk] www.tangerinetango[co.uk] it's the Pantone colour of the year for 2012. A google search for it doesn't have any Adwords Ads on the page though. www.worstowngoals[com] - was going to be a little football video site but can't see any Adsense value in it now. Anyway, Happy New Year - hope to chat/learn from you in the forthcoming year. Thanks, Ben |

Welcome on board Ben. Jewgle really not sure what to make of that though: Jewgle: the Jewish search engine. Like Google only for jewish people. Dude 1: i was looking for some stuff about the jewish people, but couldnt find anything cool. Dude 2: have you tried Jewgle? Dude 1: Jewgle? WTF is that? Dude 2: its the search engine that makes the jews sound way cool. and it doesnt even need to have anything to do with jews. you could search 'candy' and itll tell you all this shit about jewish candy makers. Dude 1: Really? that sounds fucking awesome! im always using jewgle from now on!! Dude 2: yeah, well... Shalom. Dude 1: huh??? |

Welcome Ben I'd have thought the worst own goals domain was the one with the most promise. You wouldn't happen to be a Curb Your Enthusiasm going by that user name would you

I love the gift site, not surprised it is making money. Is it automated or do you handpick items and write the content? If I were you I would take down the jewgle site immediately. Copying G logo and having their custom search is asking for trouble! Welcome to the forum, btw |

Also, Amazon won't like your Kindle domains. Apart from that, welcome!

Welcome, surely it's "best own goals" not the worst? I'd say that has the most potential out of all your names.

Thanks for all the welcomes and replies. In answer to the questions - the gift site is all chosen and written by hand, yeah. Curb Your Enthusiasm - yep! I saw someone else have this username on a football forum and it made me chuckle so i thought i'd 'borrow' it. It probably is 'best' own goals. I don't know if there's any obvious affiliate or adsense potential for that site, but it could get a bit of traffic and be good for link building. As for the Jewgle site - my wife is Jewish and we were looking around on the net for stuff for our wedding a couple of years ago. This seemed like a memorable name and it was more the case of 'I want to find a venue, band etc for my wedding, bar mitzvah etc - I'll look on Jewgle.' It doesn't have the keyword 'Jewish wedding directory' in the url though for example, so it seemed like a tough one to rank. That's why I haven't done anything with it. The current site was just experimenting with a couple of things and it doesn't get any visitors but you're right - I should probably take it down as I don't want to get on the wrong side of Google. Thanks, Ben |
