I would be interested to see how everyone's ADSL connections differ and perhaps everyone would test and put down their results so everyone can see the differences in service.

Mine . BT 8MB

Speed Test Results
Downstream 3,315.2 Kbps ( = 3.2 Mbps )
Upstream 375.0 Kbps ( = 0.4 Mbps )


Remember to make sure all other download programs are off etc so it is pure adsl test.

If you are on ADSL, your provider is moot as BT Wholesale will be providing most of the infrastructure - apart from you 'lucky' people on LLU enabled ISP's such as easynet and bulldog.

I'm with fast.co.uk and get

Downstream 3,699.6 Kbps ( = 3.6 Mbps )
Upstream 372.1 Kbps ( = 0.4 Mbps )

Edit: I should say that that figure is pretty poor for me - I can get up to 6MBps at times.

Telewest cable 10mb I think but pay for 4mb - £25 a month.

Which ISP are you with Firestars, then ill know not to use them ,lol ?

Also please all put the ISP & MB you are paying for,such as I pay for 8mb and get just over 3mb which really is piss poor I think. Bulldog was much better but their phone was crap, BT the phone is excellent and Internet is crap.

I'm on ADSL2+ (24Mbps/1Mbps), plus I've got a ADSL2+ modem which helps a lot, as well as living quite close to the exchange. Oh, I forgot, it cost about £20 a month and includes upto 40GB of monthly downloads.

I used a speed test site in Japan since testing all the way to the UK would make a nonsense of the figures in my case.

Download: 21,856 Kbps
Upload: 1,867 Kbps

The company I use is called Itscom (they're a cable TV company) and costs about 19 pounds a month.
