Do you still type 'www' when visiting a website?

I forgot to add: I also put http:// on the business cards :p If you use a new extension (I don't), maybe it doesn't hurt the reinforce twice the fact that it's a real URL.

Do you still type 'www' when visiting a website?

Still doing it often. It's almost guaranteed to work, whereas leaving out www often doesn't work.

The Release of NON Registered .uk

In .in & .co 2nd level registrations now outnumber the 3rd level ones. In other, less mature ccTLDs, 2nd level regs are also taking over. Obviously opening up the 2nd level in a less mature extension is bound to cause less upheaval. Solution: Brexit first, then split the UK, let Scotland be...

Nominet Zone File Released in May

The zone files only contain domain names and associated name servers. But you are right, scraping the whois will not return E-mail addresses for .uk domains :) Spammers could still send snail mail though.

Nominet Zone File Released in May

Like other registries, Nom are becoming 'smart' and working on building new revenue streams. As for #1, no need to wait, you can get started with some dictionary scan. Prediction: holders of newly-registered .uk domains will soon get SEO spam just like the .com holders.

Sedo Listing - is it still worth it?

It doesn't matter where you list your names, if and when somebody wants your domains, they will find you. It doesn't hurt to list at multiple places (Sedo being one of the biggest venues, if not the biggest), but that alone does not bring interested end users.

    Nice XYZ Sale

As always, you can't make rules out of exceptions. I could apply the exact same reasoning to any extension, highlight just a few sales to claim the TLD is being 'successful'. Flukes don't make a market. Seriously, there is a lot more value and credibility in .uk than in .xyz. Anybody who is...
