I've developed mini sites of just 1 or 2 pages and they've gone up in the search results in the last week. If the site has value then i think 'minisite' or not, it should be ok.

Same here, haven't noticed any detrimental changes since this apparent UK update.

By the way Phil, the 4a/4b links in your signature need '.co.uk' adding to them just in case you hadn't noticed!

My understanding is that you do see new minisites ranking well for a few days/ weeks, then dropping back down the rankings.

Can be annoying because if I wanted to search for eg a red microwave and someone made a Storeburst site using redmicrowaves.co.uk with 25 different microwaves and some the same with different prices then that is exactly what I want, all the choices in one place rather than having to go searching through Argos,Comet and Dixons etc.

Agreed, but google penalises for this, as they see is as an unnecessary step to get to the final destination page.

I've done some research across our sites and on the whole they have all risen up the serps. With a bit more plugging away at good content and some link building I expect that we'll be sitting at #1 for a fair few new keywords!

Interesting to see the big voucher code sites that seem to have been whacked with this update.

From what I have seen so far, most of my sites seem to be business as usual / more traffic than normal. I can see that things have been shaken up though. Did some affiliate sales from sites I thought were dead and buried

My sites tend to be keyword domain + unique content + not many backlinks but the ones I have are nicely relevant.

Also from what I observe in brand + voucher code search it is also the same old faces so I think the data about the voucher code sites is a bit off.

I've seen a number of competitors sites with only a handful of inbound links, or weak content drop. People with unique content and revelant inbound links seems to be ranking well though, as you'd hope and expect.

Very little change here, although some niche sites seem to be a bit stronger.

Stephen.
