I've just used Namedrive for the first time today and to be honest I'm most disappointed with it, firstly it's probably one of the most confusing interfaces that I've ever used in my life, no matter what I do or set nothing seems to work properly, and secondly I've deleted a number of domains but when I add new names the deleted one are added again, very strange. I tried the FAQ but there's no information in there. Anyone else found the same?

Hi apd, If you email or PM me with any information about your problems, I think people will testify here that we'll get back to you as fast as possible. I've had a look in the back office and the only account that seems to tally with you currently has no domains in it. What problems are you experiencing, and as the firestars man says, I'll sort it out asap. Look forward to hearing from you. Ed

I'm happy with Namedrive and their response. I wonder if this is in any way related to the issue I raised a while ago where you could configure a list of names only to realise you weren't logged in and the only option was to create a new account or put them on hold? did this get sorted Ed? When logged in I've had no problems at all. Ed... can we have a Gambling related Header please. The nearest is games, but a joystick looks out of place. A nice gameboard green/blue with pictures of roulette/poker etc would be nice. Stephen |

I will try again sometime today, by the sounds of it, it looks like I'm doing something wrong. Ed , if the problems persist I will email you directly. Cheers.

Ed - would it be possible to include some tutorials or more guidance on the Namedrive site to help us all take better advantage of what is on offer. I am also finding (this also goes for SedoPro) that the more options and functions you include the more difficult it is to understand what's going on. Clearly we all want to get the best out of this to our mutual benefit. Specifically - can you summarise here the pros & cons of 1-click v portal option. Also, if you set up a keyword applying to all regions and then also for the individual regions for a domain, does it default to the 'all region' keyword if set or only if no keyword is set for the particular region. Thanks Stephen. |

Hi there, I appreciate that it is getting a bit confusing at the moment and we are currently re-vamping our FAQ and there'll be little "?" here and there so it can tell you what each option does. A quick breakdown on all the new stuff: Portal vs 1-click: I would certainly go for the 1-click option on most domains. The portal is really good for domains where you are not really sure about what the content of the site should be or for domains that are more informational than 'sales' - e.g. searchanything.co.uk would be better on a portal than cars.co.uk which is better-suited to one-cilick page. I'd say that most people should have around 90% of their names on the one-click option as the CTR is generally higher. That's part one. I'll post more later but I have to go and listen to a boring lecture. More anon. Ed

Part II that I couldn't write yesterday due to my boring meeting that continued till 11.30 last night. No football for Ed. Category / SubCategory. The selection of the category and subcategory places high-searched, high-paying relevant links on your pages. I just read yesterday that this will also be incorporated by another parking company on this board. I suppose being copied is a complement Each category also has a default header that goes with it - see header preview. If you have the domain mobilephones.co.uk, selecting Electronics will put the electronics header on the page and four electronics-related top searches on the left of the page. In the case of Electronics - General: Digital Cameras Computers Phones TV Now then, the electronics header is perfect for mobile phones, so leave it as it is. If you'd like even more targeted RS on the left of your page, you can then choose the subcategory: Electronics - Mobile phones and you get: Cell phones Mobile Phones Satellite Cell phones Pre paid phones Down the left. Nice, high-paying, high-searched terms. The keyword box then generates the 8 related searches under these four terms and, as you know, the pages self-learn depending on user behaviour. What several people are I think not aware of is the fact that we will put any 12 relevant related searches up there you like. Just send us a .txt file with the 12 RS you'd like up there and the domain in question and we'll stick them up there. This can be particularly handy if you'd like to avoid a Trademark issue or if you'd like to really get down and dirty with optimizing your domains As I say, I am currently totally re-writing the FAQ section that was written in August. We have evolved so rapidly that much of that makes little sense, so a new ND handbook is necessary and will be available soon. Our goal was always to provide the most comprehensive and manageable domain management system and, though daunting at first, if you take time to get to know it, it treats you well. I'll keep any updates coming and will hopefully have the FAQ finished by the weekend or Sunday at the latest. Ask any specific questions, niggles on here and I'll post the answer for everyone to see. Ed
