How do search engines react to domains parked with companies such as namedrive etc ?. ,i.e. will they tend to ignore them or do they get treated just same as any other website ?.

they definetly take a hit but to what extent i'll leave that to the pros to answer - but you can understand from a search engine prospective you want sites with the most relevant content in the first page regardless of the generic name.

The official line is this is not allowed by Google. G spent millions cleaning up the serps, would look bad if it was filled with G results on other sites
