question about minisites

on another thread someone said that minisites with google adsense are a better way to go than parking, they said that going this way your sites could be listed on google in days, is this true? are minisites the way to go? also , if you have a minisite can it be linked with other sites ?

As far as i know the search engines don't 'index' the content on the parked domain so you depend on people typing the web address directly into their browser.

If you develop the site, even one page, add some adsense links then there's the possibility people will find your site using search engines and provide you with a bit of revenue from the ads.

here's a site i've put together which is doing ok at the moment.

Some parked sites will get indexed others won't. It's only worth parking domains if they have type in value. MiniSite or affiliate are the way to go.

Have a look at the Making a Domain earn £1 a week sticky thread in the affiliate marketing section on here.

I would argue building a site is always better than parking, because of the increase in % of commission you can get when running your own AdSense, or even better affiliate ads, compared to your cut from parking.

Build a simple site, go for a text heavy keyphrase rich home page, and then put ads on from the affiliate networks. You can sign up to the networks via:

Thumbs up

Thanks for that guys appreciate the info, i've downloaded the blue voda software and i,m just trying to get the hang of it, i dont want to use a template cause i think its simpler to make up your own templates, but its a bit of a learning curve and there's been some headbutting of doors. If i can get a couple done it should be simple ,hopefully.
Like what you did there with just one page pbryd the info is really simple but it looks really good, has it really increased your return? What percentage of the revenue do you guys think sedo et al are taken from what google pays them?

I never parked the domain but I'm fairly certain it wouldn't have made a penny if it was simply parked.

The site was indexed by google on the 28th March, the first week in April it took $9.36.

I've set up another similar site to this which hasn't been indexed yet so it hasn't generated any revenue so far.

that is seriously impressive for a one page site mate, you must be chuffed. I'm trying to set up 'spahotelsintexas.com' at the moment, going to get some bumf
about different spa treatments at first just to get it up then maybe later down the line when i get more proficent at it i'll try and get visitors to post reviews of the hotels they visit, favourite treatments etc. it will take me good few days to just get one page online though, my head is wrecked by it but i'll get there in the end hopefully

Thanks mate, it's came as a very nice surprise, I tried adding adsense to a few sites in the past but haven't had any success until now.

It's encouraged me to register a few more domains and start looking more indepth at keywords and seo practises to try to replicate it's success.

I have set a goal of 28p per day per domain, that's £100 per year per domain.

Good luck with your site, feel free to pm me if you have any questions.

Phil

Actually adsense clicks are usually lower than parking and due to much lower ctr the revenue will go down at first. But in the long term development should be more profitable.

here is another quick development method you might like to try.
