| Member | Newbie looking for advice on a domain name sale
Evening All, Been reading through the forum for a while now, this is a great site....so thought it's about time I posted a thread. I'm looking for some advice on whether it would be worthwhile me selling a domain name I have which is makegoodmoney(dot)co(dot)uk. Anyone have any thoughts as to whether I should sell....and if so, likely price I'd get for this? Or if this was you would you try and develop a site based around the domain name itself? Any thoughts/advice most welcomed. Thanks James |

I would say a good sale for this domain would be £100-250. There is some potential for a sale. The make money term is searched for, so there is some development potential, and long term, this is where you could really realise value. The question is, do you want to be a domainer (if so, sell for what you can, and buy 5 more domains with potential) or a developer and internet marketer. Rgds

accelerator, Thanks for your reply To be honest I think I will do down the domainer road, as my website marketing skills are basic. Have around 10 websites at the moment, which are all pretty basic created using ms frontpage 2000. Like you say if there is potential for £100-£250 and I can then purchase another 5 or so domains afterwards, then perhaps I will start getting places and I can (eventually) knock my freight business on the head and start living an easier life!! Thanks again James |

I am principally a developer, in that I buy domains to develop rather than to sell on. However, I'm sure that some have done very well out of domaining, but you have to decide what style of domainer you will be - low volume prime domain investment, or high volume quick turnover. I would say the credit crunch has made the latter a lot more difficult, but still not impossible. The key is not being too ambitious with your sale prices, and marketing your domains well. Setting a price for your domains will greatly help your sales volumes too. Rgds
