Selling domains on ebay

Hi All,

I have bought domains on ebay before and now thinking of selling some.
Haven't got much feedback on my account (but it's all +ve). Just wondering what you think :

- How much people will be put off by someone who is not a regular on ebay

- ebay in general for selling domains ? any good ? I think what I will be selling is domains with a white label set up included, e.g. this one Compare Hotels and Prices from Top Hotel Reservation Sites

Thanks,

It's a reasonably nice site but it won't rank ergo nobody will see it.

If you don't have much feedback then you need to ensure confidence through other means. You could possibly put your phone number on the listing and invite questions? Cautious users are more likely to be confident after communication. Also make sure your PayPal account is verified. In my experience low feedback is not really a problem as long as the description is decent. The buyer needs to know how to contact you and you need to market yourself as trustworthy.

ebay is a waste of time for domains if you are looking for more than 4.99 ! The US site is good, but UK pants...

don't waste your listing fee.. ebay sucks for selling domains.
You have already found the best platform for buying/selling UK names, and it costs nowt

Not sure if eBay is any worse than any other auction site a lot would depend on if the right people know it’s for sale… the suitability of the domain name. The market you’re trying to reach... the associated services you offer with it...

There can defiantly be advantages if the name is £XX to mid £XXX end user price then eBay as it reaches more end user on it would be better? , Remember not everyone knows were to buy domains from..? … EBay. co.uk is not so good but eBay .de .com .jp have much busier markets the trick like selling anything is to get as much exposer as possible…

Average joe who just wants a site to advertise there business locally which may bring them in a few sales or the new customer whose business is not reliant on solely web based advertising would buy averagejoe.co.uk with say a few page site on it with there info for say £50 -£100 globally you don’t have to sell many a week to make a living?

Some sites exclude a lot of there market by having a minimum bid, you could argue don't register names that are not worth more than the minimum bid but it does not reallly matter as long as you make a profit....
Personally I would always try and find end user other than selling on any auction site but sometimes there are just not enough hours in the day

flamingphoenix is on a distinguished road

I've picked up some killer domains on Ebay UK in recent times but have the above posters have suggested, I don't think the UK market it there atm for selling at least, buying there are some great auctions that can be snapped up. You are better off selling or auctioning on more dedicated sites. Anyway, good luck with your sales mate.

i wouldnt bother with ebay. i have a few on at the moment to see if anything happens, plenty of watchers but nothing. just questions like "what is nominet?" and "i will give you £4 but i cant afford the nominet fee" may take them down later
