Foriegn Word with .co.uk

Is there any gain in using a popular foriegn word with the .co.uk ending.

ie dolares.co.uk

Spanish for dollars I believe.
Many Thanks

I feel it would be a bit confusing for people (using a spanish word for an american currency, with a UK extension).

coupled with a local search of 1600, its one to avoid in my opinion

I tend to agree with newguy about the confusion, doesn't have any UK appeal

Some interesting sales have been made recently such as:

Descargas.net ("downloads" in Spanish) - €33,000
Tagesgeld.info ("call money" in German) - €11,500
Loterie.org - €15,000
Tarife.org ("tariff" in German) -€7,500

Seems cross language domains may have some interest if finding the right ones

None are UK specific unfortunately (.co.uk, org.uk, .me.uk)

I would say it depends on what the word is and how easy it is for a typical person to remember / spell. Recommend giving "dolares" a miss.

Every nation goes for the TLDs - they are not language limited ...

There are circumstances where a foreign word could be useful on a .uk domain - eg. you could use vacances .co.uk to sell UK holidays to the French - although the site would have to be built in French, or they will bounce (could be why the owner has it on a 307 redirect).

You need your site built in "foreign tongue", and you need to be selling something UK specific to those foreigners - then it can work.
