I'm new to domain investing and i was wondering what the best method of domain research is. Ideally I would like a niche product but where to find them? Tech blog or tech mags etc?

Google AdWords account gives you access to traffic levels and CPC rates for keyphrases.

Read as much as possible... in forums, domain blogs (domaining.com is good resource), talk to domainers. Do as much research as possible before buying.

Google adword keyword tool will help you find search volume for phrases

you can always use the Search button at the top and type in for example, "Keyword search," "exact local search," or "domain investing," etc. and you will see more targeted results. lol.
