.co was always a complete sham! That being said there are a bunch of .co domains that have sold for 5 figures so if you pick the right one you can make a tidy profit. They have no advantage in the search engines though in terms of exact match.

They won this domain in a pre-release charity auction by the .co registry - I cant remember the final bid but it was $xxx, xxx - it was part of the press launch.

Personally as far as .CO goes I like a few but wouldn't be tempted to go for a Columbian extension - just as I like .MX but have no intrest in Mexico. Your never going to go to the top off the tree with a .CO. i'm sure the SEO guys will be working them though.

Does .CO not stand for .Co(mpany) ?

.CO is a funny one, it has some authority, but I doubt it will every have the authority of a .com, or even a .net or .org, they've just been around so much longer!

Reputable Internet Marketers such as Ed Dale are proud users of .co domains.

Godaddy recently had a sale which gave 60% off .CO Domains, maybe not such a good sign?

Hard to say whether they will ever really take off, but some .co domains have gone for premium prices.

It does in the case of .co.uk, but .co is columbia

So whilst you may get SEO points for having a good term, you'll lose some unless you're after columbian visitors.

But as there are plenty of people that think it is COmpany then they could be worth a buy in the recent sale prices.

Quote from Techcrunch on Opportunity.co "It ends in "co," as in "company." How appropriate for a business' web address!..."

Yeah, SEO wise I doubt it will ever have the authority of .com's
