Selling a domain... change ips tag?

I've just agreed the sale of my first domain. The domain tag currently is 123-REG but the buyer has asked me to change it to a different registrar.

Is this normally done by the seller? And how exactly do I do it, or what should I tell the seller to do?

Thanks

Can now be done as part of the online transfer, when you make the Registrant change with Nominet for the £10 + VAT fee. See www.nic.uk for more.

The buyer will specify the desired registrar tag when they complete the Nominet registrant transfer process. (you initiate this from your Nominet account)

You can change the IPSTAG now, but I'd resist as it will force the buyer to complete the registrant transfer, often non .UK buyers do not appreciate that they have to go through the transfer process as those used to other TLD's have different processes. If you don't transfer, then you are still responsible for the domain.

Ok so when I actually go through the registrant transfer process it will include the option to change the tag. Got it.

Thanks for the quick response.

Not quite, the buyer will specify it when they complete their part of the transfer process. (it is 2 part - you release it and they accept it)
