i just wondered if anyone had any advice on the recent google shakedown for web spam, i heard there was evidence of google placing less evidence of keyword domain names?

It's thought that Google will be placing less emphasis on exact match domain names (as it's only adjusted it slightly already)...but there's not really anything anyone can do to prepare for it. Other than making sure your site is optimised and not reliant on its name to push it up the rankings of course...

![]() | You should be focusing on on-page and off-page SEO efforts regardless - Google may or may not put less emphasis on the domain soon (Matt Cutts merely indicated they're thinking about it) and even if they put less emphasis, there will be SOME emphasis, so there's still no reason not to go after an exact match domain if you can get it for a good price.
