Even I would admit that trying to compare different domain market dynamics - is a losing game. Success at one cctld level, does not necessarily (or even often) translate across to either another country and even more so to the GTld market.

I put it down to these differences - (as a generalistion).
Companies and even individuals that purchase at 'end-user' prices in the very top end of the market (.com .org etc) are seeking Identies either for an individual project, even sometime just as 'potential ideals' Their budgets reflect their willingness to spend relatively large just for their own ideal. Lets not forget the old -adage that time is money for a lot of these companies. They quite often would rather pay an additional $1k then discuss a transaction for a day more than necessary. Don't see that as a willingness to be frivolous - they would equally dismiss you out of hand if they feel your unprofessional in your dealings. And these type of buyers do not return for another day (as a rule).

It's certainly taken me at least a year of working within the UK market to have some understanding of the different dynamics - Here the UK market is more about an optional presence on the web than strickly any committed project - which quite often results in a take-it or leave-it attitude from both sides.

As for some of the other markets The german .de etc - you again can find a whole differeing way to interpret. Personally I take an interest in all the markets - mostly because i'm an inquisitive little-git, rather than for any investment reasons.

There is absolutley no-doubt in my mind that the UK domain market is in the doldrums at the moment. More due to apathy rather than lack on any intrinsic value in UK domains (I do note that only one .couk in Dnjournals top 40 CCLd sales last week) and it really hasn't been a lot better for some time.

Of course we can all pull examples to highlight our own perceptions but, I do feel I'm being honest in my analysis - as to what names should be selling is on hold to-my-mind for the moment because a lot just aren't.

Anyway if your ready to throw in the towel after just a couple of weeks or months. I don't see how you expect to survive any valuable learning curve. Concentrate on studying the markets rather than expect an instant return
