Perhaps rights owner is not the right term - they have not registered it (I think I mentioned this) but they have traded using the name around the world for 5+ years. This gives them some "prior rights" and some protection (in certain territories), certainly from a similarly targeted business with the same name.

Anyway, I have also discovered they are potentially breaching someone else's trademark in some ways so they have to consider a number of changes.

Lets see if they bother doing anything about anything.

The firm didn’t get the name they want at a price they want to pay, that’s a free market for you…..Not the first or last time that will happen… If the've been trading globally and not been bothered to get info/advice on acquiring trademark protection etc that’s there fault… The seller wishes a return if its high or low makes no difference, It’s not unethical its business….
