Develop some into successful sites or sell some of the names before thinking you have the knack of regging gold!!

Im in the same boat as you RecyKool, ive got a list of 41 domains in front of me that I want to register but dont really want to tie up funds/resources in domains that are worthless or that I never get around to developing. Still finding my feet in the domain game and the more threads I read on here just points out how little I currently know about it.

There is no magic formula unfortunately, and even the most seasoned domainers reg cr@p on a regular basis, including myself.
Just take a look at the sales on www.dnjournal.com that sell for 3, 4 and even 5 figures. Most domainers would consider the majority of them cr@p, but someone bought them.

Agree it's primarily a numbers game, tho you can increase Your odds if you know what your looking at/for, there are so many different niches and strategys which relate both to your luck and previous experience as well as your balls in negotiation.
-If your looking for a flip have some realistic end users in mind
-If your looking to develop be realistic on your skills and strategy.
But Question why they are not regged already, can you add value where others cant
check archive.org or domain tools to check if they have history.

Feel free to pm me Ill give you my opinion for what it's worth. Ill not reg any but If you make a xxxx sale you can buy me a pint

I'll also add that many US based domainers coming in to the UK market make the mistake of regging Americanisms in the .uk extension. They are still available to reg for one reason, they are worthless in the .uk market. An example is the different spelling of words, yanks have lots of made up words that don't even exist in the English language
