How are sales made on this site?

Hi,

Could someone please explain to me how sales take place on this site?

I imagine that you post the name of the site you are looking to sell, and then people make offers in the form of posts.

But if someone wants to accept an offer how does the whole transaction take place? Do you simply transfer the money into the persons paypal account and hope they move it to you, or is there an escrow service? if so how much is this?

thank you for your time, and sorry for the newbie question.

Kind regards

Dean

You would be responsible for your own deals and money transfers, the forum only connects people so do your own due diligence when buying & selling.

I understand how to do a single sale, Ie send them to sedo to purchase, however do you know of any safe way to do the same for a bulk purchase?

I'm looking to sell 100+ domain names and would like a certain level of security, would i need to do each one with sedo?

thank you

No, no, no, dont use Sedo! They charge a crazy amount to a 5 minute job and they dont even get that right.

If you are buying or selling in bulk or singles, websites or domains, then anyone on this site with over 500 posts can be pretty much considered geniune and trustworthy, although thats not say those with less posts are not.

that is a good point, but it still comes down to trust really, just out of curiosity, a high value domain - would you still sell here or use sedo?

I wouldnt use Sedo for a domain of any value, full stop.

so if u owned pizza.com, you would sell here rather than on sedo?

I know if I was an interested buyer, looking to spend $3m plus, I'd want some assurance that when i paid the money i'd get the website.

is there any good alternatives to sedo, or does it still come down to trust?

That's a good point I have only ever sold domains on the a4uforums and these are mainly to people I know. Trust is a big issue when trading on any forum I suppose you could use escrow if its for a large amount of money.

Use escrow.com for funds transfers if you don't trust the other party.

Re Escrow

I agree with Redtruck, although it's a little tedious I've used escrow.com to Tx a reasonably valued domain name, it was pretty much bullet proof and a lot cheaper than employing a solicitor (who probably wouldn't know his A**e from his elbow anyways).
