I recently registered domainnameshop.fr as I saw in the dnjournal.com that the .de version was sold recently for a good price.

I am using 1&1 in France but it is only open to French people and the domains will only be transfered to you when the AFNIC (registry for .fr) decides to open the .fr to individuals (it should happen before the summer 2006). Also, they are checking for TM, so you cannot register typos or similar names. Still quite restricted at the moment...

To add to the other publicised ones that I am aware of:

Coches-Ocasion.es €1,000 = $1,203 Means "used (2nd hand) cars" in English.
matrimonio.es (marriage in english) - 3,499 EUROS
Bioesfera.es - 800 EUROS
Hi5.es - $900 at Afternic

If any one knows of any more I'd be more than interested to see them posted here.

Albeit very early days it looks like there's scope in this extension after all.....

A little high but something is lost in the translation here. Anuncios is a commonly used term to describe what we would call in the Uk at least "classified ads". Take into account how popular classified ad's have been on the web - craigslist etc and you start to see the rationale behind this purchase.
