| Member | OV Rating I'm not looking to make a fortune from selling but a few Domains to develop into sites. Can someone clarify this OV rating thing and explain the importance of it please. Using the OV keyword tool, if I enter a URL and get a figure of say 12...is this the OV rating? TIA |

![]() | Yes....but to explain it clearer...here we go: UK OVERTURE KEYWORD SELECTOR TOOL If you type in the phrase "FujiFilm" it brings up the following: 6373 fuji film 1360 fuji film digital camera 1058 fuji film finepix 998 fuji film camera 903 film film finepix fuji fuji 796 film fuji s9500 482 f10 film fuji 475 film fuji s5600 This is known as overture without extension as there is no domain, only the keyword. This is still important for development and/or showing the marketability of a domain as it shows that the keyword is used by people and people are searching for that term. Now type in fujifilm.co.uk Searches done in March 2006 Count Search Term 306 fujifilm.co.uk This shows that 306 people in the month of March 2006 typed in fujifilm.co.uk, now this might not seem that important but this is an extremely good indication that the domain will get some traffic as people are actively searching for it. The above is known as Overture with extension. |
