Has anyone done this? I read about it ages ago but never did anything with it as didn't understand it enough but have now tried it and £246 up after just over a week. Easy money!

No, but after recently looking at the accounts of profitaccumulator.co.uk it seems there is a lot of money in promoting it.

The bookie or casino never loses long term that's why you see lots of them around.just saying...

Maybe so but that's if you only bet on one outcome. With matched you bet on all outcomes and always win where you use their free bets. You can't lose unless they shut your account down.

The best advice is to quit while you are ahead. Unfortunately, few people have the wisdom or discipline to do this - hence almost everyone gambling will lose money.

I have been disciplined whilst trying it out. I've got a spreadsheet with my deposits and balances and all the matches I'm betting on so I can track every penny.

Now I've made some I'll be using a separate bank account to ensure I don't lose it.

I think the opportunities narrow somewhat after you've used all the initial free bet offers.

So am I correct to say that you have to open accounts at multiple bookies? And that the profit per bet is very small?

Seems like a lot of work to me.

Interesting to promote though for affiliates as people open a lot of accounts which means ££££££ in commissions.

Most will give you £30 free to open an account or even match you up to £100 but they give you offers all the time. I had accounts with a fair few bookies already so missed some of these but the new ones seem to be throwing offers at me. Might be £5 here or there or free casino spins etc. but it can all count. It takes just minutes to earn £5 so not all that bad. The best bit is it's tax free [emoji106]

The more you open the more you can earn, yes. I've found it really easy so far and the scary thing is just how easy it is to open an account, probably too easy in my opinion.

I thought you have to bet a certain amount or a certain number of times before you can withdraw the free bet money, especially if it's "completely free" rather than topping up your own money? But I've never looked at it closely.

The proper name for this is arbitrage, and it's perfectly possible to do it if you keep accounts at enough bookies and have a method of automating finding opportunities. Hell that's how currency investors work :)

I wrote a spider network to do this 10 or more years ago. It installed as a system tray app on as many computers as you wanted and alerted you when the network identified an opportunity.

Most arbs didn't last very long and don't earn very much (due to bet limits, etc.) - but the real frustration was how often the bookies changed their websites and broke my spider. I gave up trying to update it in the end :)

Your approach won't work because most bookies stop you withdrawing winnings from free bets. It's a marketing trick to hook you in and get you excited enough to open your wallet.

And if you're only winning a fiver, why bother.

Yes I avoided the bookies that stipulated that and some say 50 times, the smaller less known bookies, but put simply:

You bet an amount with the bookie, but in reality you want to win at the exchange where you've lay'd the bet. As you always win when using the free bonuses, if the win is at the exchange then basically you've bypassed all the wagering requirements from the bookie as they think you've lost and the cash is free to withdraw straightaway at the exchange.

I'm half way through this process with one bookie but keep winning there!

    Interesting Martin.

Check my post that went on at the same time though and that explains how you do actually beat the bookies on their free bet wagering requirements.

Considering what I've earned in one week, last night I placed two £5 free bets which will return about £8 for 10 minutes work. Not bad as a sideline.

    Absolutely.

Anything I earn in the next x months/year is a bonus and I won't be placing any bets that aren't matched.

So far though every day I'm being sent free offers so as they say, I'll make hay while the sun shines.

Short term prospects for the punter need to be inviting, to encourage participation. The chances of a modest win are good even on a few consecutive bets. An exceptional few gamblers will remain cautious and methodical, the rest will squander their early gains and more in the belief that thier luck will return.

Continued success does not rely on luck - you need to clearly the understand risk, margins and markets that you bet on. Gambling then changes from being a leisure pass time, to an enterprise that has much in common with diligent and focussed work.

My reckoning from 4/5 years ago was about £1000 in easily exploitable opportunities - there are ways around the terms to make just about any free bet profitable - but there is still time and effort involved. The reward for doing it properly might work out to around £20 per hour. I built some calculators etc for it at the time but I guess you will have a system already?

I showed a few people, generally wasn't appreciated much. Most haven't got the patience or interest to do it properly.

The bookies are well aware and will ban accounts where it is obvious as they do technically lose, but they aren't too bothered because overall they get more from those new customers than they lose. Bookies rarely care about any individual outcome, they're focused on their 5-10% overround.

There are too many pros/"arbers" out there to allow for much profit beyond free bets, you quickly get to the point of putting thousands down to make a few quid and one slip will wipe out all your profits.

People charging for information on how to do this is a new one on me. It all used to be in one mega MSE thread, Martin Lewis shut it down before he sold up because it looked too much like gambling.

The Bet365 open account offer is a pretty easy way to get started, they match your first deposit up to £200, I think you can quickly make £150 with the right matched bets.

    Exactly.

The calculators are all there on various sites and I make sure I check and double check everything before I submit my bets. The calculators tell you how much to bet so there's no guesswork.
