Can't get javascript code to work

I'm trying to get a bit of javascript coding to work but really struggling

The 'form' can be found here: http://www.freecarvaluation.org.uk/enter-registration/

and here is the coding behind it:

Code:

Get Value

link

You'll see that there is the form and also a text link. The link has exactly the same url behind it, and links through fine, passing the registration number, the textbox and button however must have an error as it links through to affilinet.

Does anyone have any ideas what I am doing wrong - does the url need formatting differently?

It looks like a browser issue mate, both work fine in IE - in firefox the link works but the form doesn't. Firefox seems to be handling the & in the url differently in the link and in the form.

Copy and paste the url into firefox from the code and it don't work, replace all the & with & and it works.
