Google Ranking Problems

I have a .co.uk that I've been working on for a while. Got around 50ish pages indexed and the site was ranking on the first page for the exact term. So the domains was widgets.co.uk and the site was ranking for "widgets".

Now for the last week the site is now next to last for its exact term. I hadn't done anything to the site, except acquired one link from an authority site that was well aged.

Has anyone else had this happen on their sites in the last week or so?

Hi,

Now a days i notice also my site position going up and down, i think you should wait for few days. And till then if your site not take proper place then you can work for promotion.

Site positions can effected (For few days only) due to google dance.

i think it is a temporary problem just because of Google dance which has already been mentioned by the member. If it persists, you need to do get some backlinks from reputed website for fixing this issue.

Hi,

SEO is continuous process, so it may be possible that your competitors are putting more effort into their campaign. This may be one of the reason behind this.

It may be possible that current top ranked website have a number of good backlinks with the widget anchor text and so on , so need to work on your website more aggressively
