![]() | Google Acting Weird
I can't work out why google is acting strange. I have a tracker for seeing what pages google, ask, msn, bing, etc visit, and for the last week google has visited my site twice a day but only checked out the home page. It shows 18 hits all on / (the dates and times are within 15 minutes of my posts). Its not indexed my home page either, normally I'd be showing a hit for site:dom.ext this far into the project. The sites getting around 20 uniques per day, and generated around £12 comission so the sites working, but google is being odd. I regged another new domain, the same day, and thats showing 118 hits for google on 73 pages. Do I need to get links to some deeper URLs or is it just a waiting game ? Oh the site is wordpress driven.

I have almost the same problem: http://www.acorndomains.co.uk/domain...-thoughts.html And this is still going on. Most of the traffic comes from Yahoo where my site is firmly No 1 for a month now. In my case the domain in question was dropped in 2007. Is your domain “freshly regged”?

Yeah freshly regged, no history that I can find. I think I have solved the issue with some authorative back links to deep linked pages. Google has been all over my case around 7pm tonight, 160 pages and counting, so I think must be the links looking suspect all pointing to the home page and all appearing together

Nice to hear that it is solved! I still can’t see any reasons apart from the history for my domain being disliked by them.

Nothing in the index as yet, but 250 pages in total spidered now. I've just set it to post a new product 100 times over the next 24 hours (staggered cron in csv uploader), and now google is indexing a few pages every hour. Each time a post goes the sitemap is resubmitted, so seems its liking the attention now So deep links, and more updates are working for me at the mo.
