At a guess are the extra added words, also in the title of the home page?

Homepage has a different title, and the website name is a few words long so not short either. Haven't always owned the domain but I don't think this page existed on it before, think I'll just have to put up with it.

I have no idea about your title problem, sounds strange. But I've noticed recently with G that it places emphasis on previously visited sites (may be becuase I'm logged in) so I now check rank on a variety of browers and search tools as I don't really trust it anymore!

That's because you've got Google web history enabled.

You can disable it and then you'll see results with no previous history bias.

I thought there was something like that but I couldn't find it anywhere. It's not in settings or advanced search options, where do I find it?

1) Sign out from your google account
2) Go to google.co.uk
3) perform a search
4) Top right hand corner click "web history"
5) Turn it off

Keep an eye on it, it does have a habit of turning itself back on.

You'll know when this is, all of your sites will be in the top 3
