![]() | "testing" with 301's
Here's a question I hope someone with experience of this can answer. To what extent can I mess about / test 301 redirects ? I mean if I have an aged site / domain with a stack of backlinks and want to see the effect on a newer site of 301ing the old site in... can I do this for a couple of weeks and then turn it off without losing too much credibility to the aged site ? I hope that makes sense ?! Let me know if not

To begin with, you should be very careful redirecting domains having unrelated content. I don't think it seems like a very good idea anyway. I looks like you are manipulating backlinks in google's eyes, and it might effect your credibility.
