Hi Folks,

Just interested as most of the sites we have owned before have preformed better in bing's search engines.

We have not even scratched the surface yet with the seo for Roulette.co.uk but already noticed its sneaked on bottom of page 1 for the term "Roulette" in bing.

Do most people find this is normally the case when working on seo?

I only optimize for google... mainly down to the 90+% market share in the UK.

It's a little different in america with yahoo and bing having 10%+ of the market but in the uk I can see little point...

Bing loves exact match domains, but as pointed out it's (sadly) fairly irrelevant for the UK market...

What Edwin said. Bing places far more emphasis on exact match.

Having said that, Bing seems easier to rank well in as a general rule. I think that's partly because it's less competitive and the algorithm isn't as advanced as Google's though.

Yep very easy to rank well in bing, good thing is it bings the traffic and you can aim for alot of high keywords with ease and get alot of traffic but yes google is the place to get most traffic.
I wouldnt say google is advanced just annoying! lol

Call your logo roulette.png instead of logo.png, link it to your index page, and add image title/ALT text 'Roulette'.

Use SEO friendly URLs for your pages.

Two reasonably easy fixes which should make an impact.

Hopefully we will start seeing some good results within the next 12 months.

Its a tough sector so will be interesting to see how it starts ranking on google

Bing is still believed to like on-page optimization factors and a lot of keyword-rich domains are found on top pages, even if they still are not powered by a lot of links over the net.
