Site Banned from Google

Hi Dave,

I found out my site was being punished because an alert came up in Google webmaster tools.

So might be worth listing it in there and it gives you a health check, if it is on the wrong end of something it will flag it up.

That makes sense, however I don't currently have access to the site to add the Google verification code, but I'll get him to do it and take it from there.

I'd image Google Webmaster Tools would be the place to check.

if it's running normally you'd probably receive this message:

'No new messages or recent critical issues.'

It says something about site health so if you've been banned you'd like to think this is the place for explanations.

GreyWing Just out of curiosity, what type of alert was it from Google webmaster tools, did it explain in full or was it just some basic information ?

Don't rely on Webmaster Tools to pick up all problems though - it won't, particularly spam-related ones. And it's updated very infrequently.
