Is it necessary that the seller should need to complete all the info on backlinks, obl etc if you're going to do that anyway?
How current will all that info be kept - obviously backlinks, obl will be constantly changing and who knows how many pr changes may be sprung on us during a year!
Finally, as a seller I would prefer the option that I provide the content. I don't actually allow guest posts as a general rule as 95% of the content submitted to me is rubbish!
Hi Mate,

We will be allowing just about any site to be listed on their if there is a market for it. We were discussing the adult category, should we or shouldn't we have it, still up in the air at minute. Anything that doesn't have a category of it's own will go in the "others" section. But we aim to make it easy as possible to navigate.

We charge £5 when adding a site, first site will be free. For that we will add all the data etc, I think the seller only needs to complete 4 fields.

They won't be updated by us constantly, unfortunately we don't have the man power to update everything. We do list the date at which they were last checked so buyers can make a decision on stuff like that. Listings will only be live for 6 months then need renewing, so nothing will be more than 6 months out.

Good idea on the content, we'll add that option in the backend so sellers can state what they will and won't allow in respect of content from buyer or not.

Cheers viceroy, we are nearly there and will be fully up this week. We have plenty of buyers ready to fly on this one, we will be short of sites to start with I imagine.

OK Guys, we are now live to anyone to sign up and sellers to start listing their sites. http://www.that.co.uk/page-space/sellers/add-your-site

Your first site is free, subsequent sites will cost £5 to list. So let's start with a trickle before you go adding your whole catalogue.

If you can't see a category to add your site to, please add it under Misc and we'll build the categories up as they come in.

We will spend this weekend adding the sites and buyers will have access from Monday.

Any problems email or PM me,

Please bare in mind this is not the finished article of the site, the workings are in and we'll finish the design and help files as we see how it is flowing and changes we need to make. If you see something that isn't right or could work better, just drop me a line. I've already made 3 big changes this week due to feedback from helpful people on here and I'll make more if people ask me too.

Cheers
GW

Update........

Got plenty of feedback about site being slow and template not very good....

Will be changing that template this week and will all look a lot clearer about what is going on....

Site will be down for about 2 hours on Saturday for the new changes.... Cheers for the feedback to those that have emailed me.

Good luck.

...but there's a huge number of excellent UK sites which use not .co.uk or .org.uk extensions.

If you got the sellers to tick a box certifying that their site is a UK site when they submit it then you could have a whole lot more good quality inventory to sell (from me for example).

Why not use a ip to location script like the (free) maxmind database? that way you get uk ips as well as uk domains...

edit: also I am not sure how representative the current pricing is or if I get to see URLs when I sign up, but as I tend to think volume of links is more important than one or two good ones so I am unlikely to pay £300/yr for a link unless I know what the site is and that it is a very good fit / highly authoratative domain. As a guide I generally pay around £30 for permanent in-content links where I provide the content on PR 3-5 domains. Perhaps a per sale rather than rental value is more appropriate given you are buying a page and not a space on a homepage?

Just finished a new site design for it, bits and bats to tidy up and help files to add but hopefully people will now be a bit clearer as to what is going on..

Hi mate,

That is a decent idea and will certainly look at it. It was never really a personal decision to not allow them it, it's what feedback we got from buyers. But happy to look at it again.

One of the reasons mate that we have to charge (or word charging per month) is for credit card processing reasons. Bearing in mind we are taking payment for a permanent, if we hand over the cash to the seller and they then take it down. The buyer could rightly perform a charge back for not getting what they have paid for and we would be left out of pocket.

We will make the wording more clear but some sellers can click a button that says they won't take the link down after payment has stopped (so in all but name a permanent link). But again we'll clear that up and make it clearer.
