That.co.uk Relaunches Friday

Hey Guys,

Something I have been planning for ages and didn't have the tech to do it, but that.co.uk's new service appears on Friday.

Basics of it are "buyers" (link builders) can buy / lease space from sellers (website owners). Buyers send their content to the sellers through our control panel, sellers places content on their site and happy days.

It's all a manual process, Google will not get access to url's involved.

Charges are 20% (charged to sellers), this covers card costs, and managing the process.

£5 to list a name, this covers the cost of us doing all the stats for it, basically logging all the stuff that buyers need to see. This also prevents sellers from dumping sites into our catalogue, something buyers will hate.

We manage the links and check that they are live on the sellers site... and pay the seller at the end of each month.

Page Space can be leased per month or sold on a permanent basis.

We have been negotiating with some big link buyers recently, we have some huge customers dying to get going.

All previous customers of that.co.uk will still have their same accounts and able to use Page Space through them. Anyone else will need to sign up.....

We have spent a lot of time and a lot of money investing in this to make sure it will be fantastic to both buyers and sellers. So plan is Friday we start listing sites from sellers and Monday buyers have access to the system. Content writing service is unaffected and will continue as normal.

Any questions drop me a line or post in thread.....

Cheers
Graeme

Sounds quite interesting. Is this the way it works: seller lists site. buyers (that want links) gives the seller content that has a link to their site in it and agree to pay £X a month. You then pay the seller this £X each month?

Yes mate, sellers sets the price and can achieve more if the stats are better, better pr, betters traffic equals more money per month usually.

Do you monitor that the content/embeded links are always live/ not nofollowed etc (regular checks), or is it up to the buyer to check?

We will do random checks, maybe once twice a month, with some bot type software.

Link stays live and everything, we release funds to seller at end of month.

Just to add, there will be full phone support and finally this is designed to piss off Google as much as possible.

I'll teach the mother ''##;'''#'' to mess with my sites.....

Have you thought about giving users a php snippet to dynamically insert the content, like text-link-ads? This way you have complete control over the content being displayed. Seems to work well for them. Just a thought.

We did mate, but it became apparent Google could hunt down that code and punish websites. It quickly became apparent that any automation would be spotted by and punished by google.

So everything is manual, a bit of a pain in the backside but at least it will look indistinguishable from any other page on the net.

Also as I have been asked a lot tonight, do we have to use that.co.uk for the content?

No, the buyer can source the content from any content writer / provider they wish and give it to the seller. Sellers can also be able to state whether the content going on their site will have to be unique or not.
