.uk usurping .co.uk will take another decade or so I guess.
But I also anticipate a paradigm shift, with blockchain alternatives starting out as memorable NFT wallet addresses + additional functionality added later on.
That's a very important point, and one that will be especially more pertinent in a recessionary post/Covid-19 climate. The High Street is an increasingly unattractive proposition for both businesses and consumers, and the domain aftermarket may see some direct benefit.
As mentioned, if the domain warrants it then it's often useful to let major players know in advance of an auction. If two or more sense the opportunity, then the fear of a major competitor capitalising on a category-killer domain can be a good incentive for a bidding war. To a large established...
When you involve multiple end users in an auction, prices aren't generally going to be as arbitrary as reseller prices. It's just that we don't often see end user sales these days. Probably always best to mailshot relevant companies beforehand (if the domain warrants it)
Hi Steven,
Happy New Year :) Just a quick one - noticed you own clinicaltrials.co.uk / .uk and wondered how much you'd like for them? Also could be interested in other similar domains.
Many thanks
James
I think whoever bought it could flip it for 10X as much if they want to. I think industry isn’t really aware of these auctions any more than they were aware of the whole .uk process.
Long story re video. I was unable to register it due to technical issues between Nominet and various registrars. Extremely annoying. Ah well. I do think film is the better of the two... not bad though :) Let me know if you want a quick deal on it.
Yes... some way of directing someone to the information they are looking for will be needed. We can’t really imagine how the future will look until it arrives I guess. Just a gut feeling that *domain names* won’t survive in their current form.
You’re on to something, I would say. It’s just taking rather longer than I expected. I felt similarly back in 2007 or so and remember discussing it with a few of the old guard. It was one of the reasons I sold off most of my decent quality domains back then. Fortunately for me, it was probably...
I have probably the best portfolio of single word adult domain names in the UK. I don't really want them. Can anyone advise who the top companies are in this market? Looking to do an affiliate deal or just shift them.
Many thanks in advance,
J
Currently we have SR as a %, out of ten (like PR) and as an absolute/heirarchical score (like Alexa). So we're looking for feedback on those, actually, to see which users prefer.
We use a secret sauce combination of interaction, user authority, reach, history and many other factors across multiple social media platforms. Some of these are viewable to users from inside the site, and some are very much in the realm of IP.
