Aaron Wall's case against exact match domains

Maybe Search Engine Promotion is the new SEO? ie it's possible that this line of thinking will move them and others towards selling an approach that is tailored towards promoting websites via search engines through all channels, rather than optimising websites to appear within organic search...

Aaron Wall's case against exact match domains

It's an interesting read, but I agree with the above comments, and it reads more like a case against the value of organic search in general. In addition, I'd hardly expect SEOs to be publicly promoting exact match domains anyway given what their business actually is and who they make their...

Might it not be worth registering CheapCruises2012.co.uk if you value the one you have so highly? It's currently FTR.

    Unlimited webhosting - £7.99/month

Out of interest is your service provided via a reseller account at unlimitedwebhosting.co.uk/resellerhosting.php? I noticed last night when you posted the thread that 2 of the dns servers for the domain are provided by unlimitedwebhosting.co.uk - I looked as I was interested in the hosting...

    .so Domians

It's probably worth remembering that Somalia is one of the least stable countries in the world both politically and financially, possibly more so than Libya, and look what has been happening to their domains. Also with these extensions there's nothing that says that they won't "repatriate"...

    .so Domians

Only in Somalia. Absolute and utter waste of money, and I'd strongly advise against throwing more away on building anything on it. Best bet is to try and sell the name on to some unsuspecting "domain investor" imo.

Odd arrangement but sure. It's generally not the done thing to ask for appraisals on names that you don't own personally though.

    www.sandblastingequipment.co.uk

I mean that different models can produce very different returns. But obviously that is all assuming that you can get the traffic via SERPs and it's targetted. I would have assumed that sandblasting equipment was a pretty targetted search.

    www.sandblastingequipment.co.uk

Not at all pointless, just 2 sales a month at an average of £2k per sale (or 20 hire a month at £200 a hire) would net £200 a month at 5%, not a bad return if the site is cheap and the performance is consistent.

    www.sandblastingequipment.co.uk

My pleasure. Let's take another scenario. X% to XX% of the people typing [sand blasting equipment] in Google are looking to hire or buy sandblasting equipment. Hiring costs £xxx per hire and buying costs £x,xxx per sale. Let's say affiliates get paid circa 5% of the total spend. You get...

    www.sandblastingequipment.co.uk

Ok, let's say you get 2-300 visits a months, and Google charges advertisers 80p per click. Then let's say you get 75% of that per click from Google, so 60p a click, and you get a CTR of between 0.5 and 2% on your ads from your 2-300 visitors, that'd give you earnings of between 30p and £4.80...

_co_uk Premium Names Of The Future or Fads????

It's a sales thread but you asked a question, so.... They're fads, but they're special in that they're fads that haven't even been fads yet. Good luck though

    creditcardrelief.co.uk

I'd say it's worth £0 as a domain only proposition, but it's in a good paying niche, so if you can get traffic to the site you've put on it then it'd be worth something (related to any earnings). FYI, 22 people in the UK per month type [credit card relief] into Google, so the exact match value...
